'Pak should first tackle terrorism on its soil': BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday dubbed Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif's accusation against India of 'creating instability' through ceasefire violations and supporting militancy in different areas of the country as ludicrous and said that Islamabad should instead focus on tackling terrorism on its soil.

"To say such things to others is laughable. Pakistan should first think of how to tackle terrorism in their own country. They are nurturing terrorists in their country. Pakistan is a terrorist sponsoring country," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.

Addressing the passing-out parade ceremony at the Pakistan Naval Academy, PNS Rahbar in Karachi's Manora island, General Sharif had said that Islamabad has been willing to cooperate with other nations for peace but not at the cost of national interest, sovereign rights and national pride.

"We are ready to pay any price to protect our nationhood and safeguard Pakistan's interests, be it Kashmir, development of new ports or exploitation of natural resources," the Dawn quoted him as saying.
