The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday alleged that the Congress has touched an abysmal low as far as politics is concerned by casting aspersions on a possible terror attack that was averted in the Arabian Sea.
"We are very sad that the Congress chose not to stand with the Indian Government and chose not to speak in favour of the Indian intelligence agencies. The Congress today has touched an abysmal low as far as politics is concerned," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.
Patra further demanded answers from the Congress for such a stand.
The Congress had earlier asked the BJP-led NDA government to come clean on Pakistani 'terror boat' issue by naming the terror organization involved in the incident.
Congress leader Ajoy Kumar while speaking to a news channel had said different versions were coming out and there was no concrete evidence to prove a major terrorist strike was averted. He accused the Centre of sensationalizing this issue.

On Friday, a possible terror attack was averted when a suspicious fishing boat carrying explosives in the Arabian Sea was intercepted near the India- Pakistan maritime boundary, approximately 365 kilometres away from Porbander.
The four persons on board disregarded warning shots from the Coast Guard and tried to hide themselves in the lower deck of the vessel; thereafter they set the boat on fire, which resulted in an explosion.
Ultimately, the boat burnt and sank in the early hours of January 1, including all the people on board who could not be saved or recovered.
