National Security Guard (NSG) Director General J.N. Chaudhary said here on Thursday that threats from Pakistan-based terror outfits like the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HM) and the Indian Mujahideen (IM) are very real, and urged security forces to be alert to this danger.
"Though our security forces have been really successful, as they have picked up many operatives, the incidents won't be frequent. They will be of the Black Swan variety and with huge impact," said Chaudhary.
Chaudhary's warning comes even as India and Pakistan have agreed to restart talks at the foreign secretary-level from next month.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin had said that the foreign secretaries will meet on August 25 in Islamabad.
In 2013, over 200 ceasefire violations were recorded on the LoC, the highest in the last decade.
The composite dialogue between the two countries had hit a deadlock following the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, in which 10 Pakistani militants killed over 170 people. India has accused Pakistani hand behind the massacre.
