Pakistan has decided to convey to Iran that the gas pipeline project cannot be implemented due to threat of possible US sanctions.

A Pakistani delegation would leave for Tehran by the end of this month to convey the decision on the Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline project to Iranian officials, the Express Tribune reports.

The Foreign Office discussed the issue and arrived at the decision in an inter-ministerial meeting that Pakistan has failed to garner funds due to a threat of US sanctions, as friendly countries like China have backed out from funding the project.
