Pakistan and Turkmenistan are holding negotiation for a second project that would connect with the Gwadar port via Afghanistan-Iran border after the landmark TAPI gas pipeline.
According to the Dawn, there can be a massive increase in employment in Balochistan which ha sbeen marred by political unrest and insurgency.
The Interstate Gas Systems (ISGS) had submitted a concept paper to Turkmenistan around two months ago, discussing the laying of an additional gas pipeline, an official familiar with the development said.
The official said that work on this proposal was under way to implement the project.
