Pak violates LoC ceasefire for 11th time in five days

Even as India celebrates its 67th Independence Day, the country woke up to reports of another ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army in the Mendhar Sector of Poonch District in Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceasefire violation took place late on Wednesday night.

Heavy firing began at approximately 10 p.m on Wednesday night from the Pakistan side in the Balakot forward area.

One Indian Army porter working for the 49 Rashtriya Rifles unit in Balakot was injured in the firing from the Pakistani side and has been evacuated.

It is being reported that intermitent firing is still going on.

Pakistan has violated the ceasefire for the 11th time in five days in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.
