The Pakistani women's cricket team has reportedly qualified for the Women's World Twenty20 to be held in Bangladesh after a 9-wicket win over Ireland in the first semifinal of the qualifiers helped by left-arm spinner Sadia Yousuf's career-best figures of 4-9.
According to the Daily Times, Yousuf plundered four wickets in her first three overs to leave Ireland reeling at 32 for 6 after 13 overs, and then achieved a hat-trick after having both Ireland's Laura Delany and Elena Tice stumped off the last two balls of the 13th over.
The report further said that Ireland's Kim Garth made an unbeaten 38 but the rest of the line-up could not reach double figures as Ireland were dismissed for 65, although heavy rains interrupted play with Pakistan six runs from victory.
With three teams slated to qualify for the World T20, Ireland still have a shot if they beat the loser of the second semifinal in the third-place play-off match on July 31, the report added.
