Pakistan alleges ceasefire violations by Indian forces

Director General (South Asia and SAARC) summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner here today to lodge a protest against the alleged ceasefire violations by Indian Security Forces in Harpal Sector due to which a Pakistani Civilian was killed.

"The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was called in by the Director General (South Asia & SAARC) today. A protest was lodged against the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian Security Forces in Harpal Sector due to which a Pakistani Civilian Mr. Muhammad Shareef embraced Shahadat," an official statement by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

"Indian Security Forces also resorted to unprovoked firing at Jandrot, Nikhial and Karela Sectors, as a result of which one more civilian embraced shahadat and four civilian were injured," the statement added.

 

Pakistan urged India to adhere to 2003 ceasefire understanding.

"The Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed Pakistan's concern over the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian security forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary. Pakistan urged India to immediately stop the violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding," the statement said.
