Pakistan delegation arrives in Delhi for Vajpayee's funeral

A Pakistani delegation led by acting Law and Information minister Syed Ali Zafar has arrived in New Delhi to take part in funeral of India's former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Pakistan's minister Syed Ali Zafar is accompanied by Director India at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Fareha Bugti, Director General South Asia, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and Spokesperson at MoFA, Muhammad Faisal and Director to Law and Information Minister, Danyal Gillani.

Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, Pakistan's minister told ANI, "We are here to share your grief and pay condolence on the behalf of people of Pakistan and the Government of Pakistan".

 

Earlier today, King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, Former Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Sri Lanka's acting Foreign Minister Lakshman Kiriella reached the national capital to pay their homage to the 'Iron Man'.

Vajpayee's last journey began from Bharatiya Janta Party headquarters on Friday afternoon. His carriageway moved from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg towards Smriti Sthal. The former Prime Minister will be cremated with full state honors at Smriti Sthal today evening.

The 93-year-old breathed his last on Thursday at Delhi's AIIMS.
