Pakistan is reportedly devising a cyber security strategy to counter cyber attacks or infiltration from other countries.
During the question hour in the upper house of Pakistan's Parliament, Minister of State for Interior Balighur Rehman said that the government had already approved e-mail and internet policy, envisaging security guidelines and a multi-stage information security audit of government institutions and ministries.
He further said that the Ministry of Information Technology had also finalized "Prevention and Electronic Crime Bill" which would soon be presented in the parliament for approval, the Dawn reported.
Rehman said that the National Database and Registration Authority of Pakistan had a sensitive database of 100 million people and had deployed a state-of the art system to prevent breaches from internal and external cyber intruders.
