Pakistan left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has been dropped from the recently-announced 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia.

Earlier, the 26-year-old was also left out from the ongoing two-match Test series against Australia.

While all-rounder Imad Wasim has made a comeback to the T20I squad, right-hand batsman Mohammad Hafeez, who made a late entry to the Test squad, has also been picked up by the national selectors.

Reflecting on the selections, PCB's national selection committee head Inzamamul Haq said that Wasim has made a comeback in the team on the basis of his form and fitness, while left-arm bowler Waqas Maqsood has been kept on hold in the T20I squad after his recent performances in the domestic cricket.

"Imad Wasim makes a comeback in the team after his form and fitness were monitored by the selection committee during the current domestic matches," the Express Tribune quoted Inzamam, as saying.

"Waqas Maqsood has been drafted in the T20I squad after his recent performances in the domestic cricket and playing for Pakistan 'A' team in the recent series," he added.

Pakistan are slated to play a three-match T20I series against Australia from October 24 to October 28.

The full Pakistan squad for the T20I is as follows:

Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Sarfraz Ahmed (c/wk), Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan Shinwari, Hassan Ali, Imad Wasim, Waqas Maqsood and Faheem Ashraf.
