Pakistan star players Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal have been dropped from the national squad for the upcoming tour of England over disciplinary issues, according to newly-appointed chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Explaining his selection committee's decision, former Test captain Inzamam cited a lack of discipline and performance on the part of Shehzad and Umar as the reason for the duo's ouster from the team.

"Wherever there will be a disciplinary problem, we will take a step. And you should expect this selection committee to be a little stern on discipline," Inzamam was quoted as saying by the Express Tribune.

Commenting on former T20 captain Shahid Afridi's exclusion, Inzamam said that they want to give a chance to youngsters, adding that the flamboyant all-rounder would be selected if he proves his fitness and form in the coming future.

The 35-man training camp for the England tour will begin on May 14 and go on till June 4 ahead of the tour which starts in July.

Pakistan are scheduled to play four Tests, five ODIs and one-off T20 against England from July to September.
