Pakistan envoy in UK seeks to highlight Kashmir issue

British parliamentarians and the Pakistani community has been briefed by Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas about the situation along the LoC, Indo-Pak relationship, and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor .

The High Commissioner was invited as the chief guest by the Conservatives Friends of Pakistan to their reception held on the fringes of the conference on 4 October, reports the Nation.

The High Commissioner, in his remarks, spelt out the salient features of Pakistan's positive economic trajectory and spoke about the CPEC, the security situation and Pakistan-UK bilateral relations which he said was on a growth path.

He spoke at length over the Kashmir issue and appealed the participants to exercise their influence to establish durable peace in the region and ensure the right of self-determination of Kashmiris.

 

The reception was attended by Sir Patrick Allen McLoughlin, Chairman Conservative Party, Lords, MPs, MEPs, Lord Tariq Ahmad, Zameer Choudhary, councillors, member of the Pakistani diaspora, and Tory Party members.
