Pakistan is likely to release and repatriate 173 Indian prisoners next week, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.
"Expectation of return soon. We have been informed that 173 Indian prisoners are to be released and repatriated from Pakistan on 16 February," MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.
As per reports, the Indian fishermen will come through the Wagah border and will be received by the Indian diplomatic mission staff.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is also set to free over 80 fishing boats of India that allegedly crossed the international maritime boundary illegally.
The news comes days before Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena's arrival in New Delhi early next week.
