Major General Umar Farooq Burki, the director general of the Pakistan Rangers, is expected to reach New Delhi on September 9 to hold talks with his Border Security Force (BSF) counterpart Devendra Kumar Pathak.

The Pakistan Rangers said in statement today that as per Border Ground Rules 1961, a routine, biannual meeting between the Inspector General of the Border Security Force and Director General of the Pakistan Rangers is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 9 to 13.

The meeting is expected to focus on border management and security along the working boundary and international border between the two countries.

There have been at least 180 ceasefire violations reported by both countries since the two prime ministers met in Ufa, Russia, last month. Both sides accused each other for escalating hostilities.
