Pakistan has sought US intervention to reduce ongoing tensions with India along the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary.

According to the Express Tribune, the ceasefire violations along the border between India and Pakistan have raised concerns in the West amid talks that there could be a possible limited war between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

The issue was one of the key concerns during talks between US NSA Susan Rice and Pakistan's top civil and military leadership.

Susan held separate meetings with her Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.

Rice's visit focused on bilateral issues as well as regional tensions including unrest in Afghanistan.
