Pakistan summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J P Singh to the Foreign Office today to protest against the three civilian casualties caused by what it called unprovoked ceasefire violations by India.
"The Indian Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. J P Singh, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Dr. Mohammad Faisal, DG (SA & SAARC) today to protest against the Shahadat of three civilians, in Nikial sector, due to the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian Security Forces at the Line of Control," Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
The Foreign Office said, "The Shaheed include Munshi Ameen, Liaba Shahbir, a 13-year-old girl and Mohammad Zahid."
"The Government of Pakistan has expressed its deep concern at the continuous unprovoked Ceasefire violations by the Indian Security Forces and the intentional targeting of innocent civilians, which is high condemnable," the Foreign Office added.
It said, "Pakistan has stressed upon India to stop forthwith these Ceasefire violations and respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement in order to restore peace and tranquility at the LoC and the Working Boundary."
It further said, "The Government of Pakistan extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prays for the departed souls and for the quick recovery of the injured.
