A delegation of eight persons from Gujarat will leave for Pakistan on Sunday to bring back 57 seized fishing vessels that are anchored at a port in Karachi.

The delegation comprises of two officers from fisheries, while the others are linked with fishery associations.

"We will go there and repair the 57 boats that are floating there for more than two and half years. A total of 834 seized boats are there," Gujarat Fisheries Board director Arvind Panjari told ANI.

This move comes after 172 Indian fishermen were freed by Pakistan as a goodwill gesture last month.

Pakistan and India routinely detain fishermen for entering each other's waters. There is no clear demarcation of maritime boundaries between the two countries.
