Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire again on Monday by opening fire on Border Security Force positions on the international border in Jammu District.
The firing began at around 4.15 a.m., and is said to be still on.
According to reports, two Border Security Force (BSF) troopers - Head Constable Sunil Kumar and Constable Bishnoi - were injured by the unprovoked firing at four places in the R S Pura sector. Two women - Rani Devi and Ritu Kumar - both residents of Suhag Village were also injured by the firing.
The Johra Post, Nowa Pind, Jogna Chak and Tent Post were fired upon; the police was quoted, as saying.
Monday's ceasefire violation came over eight hours after the Pakistan Army had violated ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mendhar Sector of Poonch District on Sunday.
Over the weekend, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, addressing a National Security Conference in Islamabad, lamented the fact that relations between Pakistan and India were still poor 67 years after both nations had gained independence from the British.
He hoped the foreign secretaries would help move ties forward when they meet on August 25.
