At least one Pakistani fishing boat and seven of its crew members were held by the Indian Coast Guard in Gujarat on Tuesday.

The boat Al-Hilal, 16 nautical miles off Jakhau, is being brought ashore for investigation, a statement said.

India and Pakistan share the Arabian Sea coastline along Gujarat and the Pakistani province of Sindh.

The Indian Coast Guard and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) often apprehend boats and fishermen from each other's countries for crossing the international maritime border.
