A Pakistani girl has reportedly accused her parents of pressurizing her to sell her virginity because of the family's poor conditions
The 16-year old girl said that her father and mother forced her into prostitution in Dubai, adding that she was 'coerced to yield' when she first refused to sell her body.
According to Gulf News, the underage Pakistani girl faced her parents and testified against them before the Dubai Court of First Instance about how they exploited her sexually and emotionally, and coerced her to have sex with strangers for money.
The girl told presiding Judge Ezzat Abdul Lat that her family, who used to live in Pakistan, is poor and her father coerced her to accompany him to Dubai and work in prostitution, as it would make them rich quickly.
The couple had reportedly taken 16,000-dirham from a Pakistani businessman to make their daughter 'a woman'.
The prosecutors have charged the Pakistani couple of human trafficking and coercing their daughter into prostitution.
The Pakistani businessman has also been charged for having consensual sex with the teenager without knowing that she had been forced to work in prostitution, the report added.
