Pakistani Judo coach praises Humera on bagging gold in International event in Katmandu

Pakistani Judo coach has reportedly praised his apprentice for creating history by becoming the first women to win a gold medal in Judo in an International event.

Humera Ashique defeated a local athlete to clinch the 48kg event and took the gold in Judo in the South Asian Judo Championship in Kathmandu.

Team coach, Rashid Ahmed said that he is proud of Ashique, as she created history by becoming the first Pakistani women to do so, Express Tribune report.

The judo coach said that Ashique is the first female to deliver a breakthrough performance for the judokas of the nation.

He said that he is also proud of the entire team and Pakistani women have made a mark in judo at an international level, the report added.
