National Panthers Party (NPP) chief Bhim Singh on Saturday demanded the imposition of Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir for the interest and security of the country.

"I think there is a need for a drastic operation in the interest of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. For national security purposes, Governor's Rule should be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir for the security of the country," Singh said.

He added that the attack on an army camp in Samba was a failure of the BJP-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

"I wonder about the national security, intelligence agencies, not only in Jammu and Kashmir, but also in Modi's government. It is an utter failure of security. It is not only a lapse, it is a blunder on the part of Modi's government as well as the Modi supported government in Jammu and Kashmir," Singh said.

A day after six people, including two militants, were killed in an attack on a police station in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua District, an Army camp was attacked by terrorists in Samba District this morning.

According to reports, one civilian is said to be injured in the heavy exchange of firing between the terrorists and the security forces.

The terrorists, who failed to enter the camp, were reportedly hurling grenades inside the Army installation.

The Jammu-Pathankot Highway has been sealed following the incident.
