Paramilitary hands over old man to their Pakistani counterparts across LoC

Paramilitary forces have handed over an old man to Pakistani Army officials at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistani national was arrested on Sunday by Indian Army at the LoC near the Nowshera sector while he crossed over the border illegally towards Indian side.

After a proper investigation, he was handed over to Pakistan Army at Zero Point Line of Control Chackan Dha Bagh in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir.

The man was traced in a suspicious state by the patrolling team of Border Security Force (BSF) near the sensitive area of the international border fence.

Pakistan Army Regiment Commanding Officer, Imran, termed the release as a goodwill "It is a good will gesture and we wish that peace prevails every where," he said.

 

After detailed investigations it was surfaced that the man was not having any criminal connections nor had crossed over with any wrong intentions, said security forces.

Kashmir region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades.
