Paramount TV president Amy Powell was fired following inappropriate comments she made in a meeting.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was made known through an internal memo from Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos in which he cited the concerns and comments from multiple individuals in connection to Powell's comments in a "professional setting, which they believed were inconsistent" with Viacom's values.

It has come to notice that a complaint was filed with the human resources department who along with the legal department investigated the assertions and those involved on the notes call.

According to The Hollywood Reporter sources, the company was earlier considering a disciplinary action but later decided to fire Amy Powell after she denied the allegations.

The comments made by Powell were apparently 'racially charged'.

Following Powell's firing, Paramount COO Andrew Gumpert will oversee operational support, while Mireille Soria, Brian Robbins and Wyck Godfrey - presidents of Paramount Animation, Paramount Players and Paramount Motion Picture Group, respectively - will help lead the studio's team.
