Parineeti Chopra, who has off late grabbed a lot of eye balls and created stir on social media with her recently attained lithe body, revealed that she had been obese since childhood and had always wanted to be thinner.
In an interview with a leading daily, the 27-year-old actress said, "People keep associating this change to my films and my career. It's not like that. I have been obese and I have battled my weight since childhood. I always wanted to be fit," reports Pinkvilla.
Speculations were rife that the actress decided to shed her 'curvy' image after her last flick 'Kill Dill' didn't go very well with the audience.
However, slamming the rumour-mongers, the 'Ishaqzaade' actress stated the transformation was solely driven by her "personal desire."
"It has been a personal desire for me to be fit, thin or whatever you want to call it, for years now. It has nothing to do with Kill Dil. It has nothing to do with me being an actress; it has nothing to do with anything apart from my personal choice. At one point, it had become a default adjective for me, which is fine - curvy or whatever diplomatic term for overweight was," she said.
Adding, "It's just because I am a public figure, the media will compare me to what I was two years ago. But my life didn't start two years ago."
The actress was spotted filled with a sense of achievement that came along with a well-shaped body.
On the work front, Parineeti will be next seen in a romance drama 'Meri Pyaari Bindu' opposite Ayushmann Khurana.
