After the horrific terror attacks in Paris, Facebook has now activated its 'safety check' tool for users in the French capital to let their friends and family members know they were safe.

According to TMZ, a Facebook representative said that people turned to Facebook to check on loved ones and get updates, which is why they have created 'Safety Check' and activated it for people in Paris.

Earlier, this safety feature had been used for natural disasters, which allowed Facebook users to 'check-in' as safe and also send notification to friends.
