A man who had taken two hostages and was holed up in a post office in a suburb of Paris has been arrested after he surrendered, said police officials.
According to News.com.au, a police source said that the man gave himself up while there were no assaults.
He also said that the hostages were no injured but came out extremely shocked.
The incident occurred after a bomb threat and subsequent evacuation at the Gare de l'Est train station as police tried to prevent violence after last week's brutal Charlie Hebdo massacre in the French capital.
Police also said that the post office incident did not appear to be connected with extremism.
The gunman had been known to the police as a crime suspect.
