Political parties left aside rivalry and wished each other on the occasion of Holi on Monday, which brings together people from all caste, creed and religion.

Leaders of the Congress party greeted each another and party president Sonia Gandhi by applying colours. Gandhi met her party leaders and played Holi with them.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were also immersed in Holi celebrations and wished their opponent on the festival.

"We are not enemies, we are political competitors. And today there is no point of any animosity or competition. The day is equal for everybody and I want to wish Kapil Sibal and Harsh Vardhan both and their families on the festival of Holi," said AAP leader Ashutosh.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lalji Tandon, wished everyone in Lucknow.

"We are celebrating Holi like every year with same excitement, colours, people, and same enthusiasm. I will not talk about elections on Holi," said Tandon.
