Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday asked the Central Warehousing Cooperation (CWC) to gear up to participate in the 'Make in India' program.
Addressing the foundation day celebrations of the CWC here, Paswan said the program has created new opportunities for CWC and hence it should now take up logistic management in a big way besides warehousing activities.
Assuring all government support to the CWC, Paswan said the organization should identify new ventures and setup more warehousing facilities at airports, ports and business hubs.
The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution further said that improving the efficiency of its existing ventures should also be given paramount importance by CWC.
Paswan asked the management of CWC to adopt best management practices to encourage its employees for better performance and reward them suitably for this purpose.
On the occasion, the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution also presented awards to CWC units for outstanding performance in their respective regions.
