Baba Ramdev's flagship company, Patanjali, beat around 1,000 of India's top FMCG companies to emerge as the most trusted brand in the sector, as per TRA's Brand Trust Report 2018.

N Chandramouli, CEO, TRA, informed Business Standard that Patanjali, which positions itself as a Swadeshi manufacturer of fast-moving consumer goods, left behind firms such as Hindustan Unilever, Dabur and ITC to grab pole position.

The TRA study was conducted among 2,500 consumer influencers across 16 cities. TRA (earlier Trust Research Advisory) has been conducting such studies since 2011.

Baba Ramdev took to his Twitter handle to make the announcement as he wrote, "Patanjali is India's number #1 trusted FMCG Brand accordingly to 'The Brand Trust Report', India Study 2018 #BTR2018 - @TRA_Research."

The Patanjali Ayurved Limited was established in 2006 by Ramdev, along with Acharya Balkrishna, with the objective of establishing a science of Ayurveda in accordance and coordination with the latest technology and ancient wisdom.
