The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced on Wednesday that the Pakistani cricketers, who are on a central contract, will get a 25 percent hike in their salary and a 35 percent rise in match fees this year.

The hike would reportedly be backdated to January, when the players' contracts had been up for renewal.

According to the Dawn, the PCB said in a statement that it is pleased to announce the revision in the national team players' central contracts, which would now see players getting a pay raise of 25 percent in their monthly retainers in all the categories.

The PCB said that this increase would be in addition to a further 25 percent increase in Test match fee and 10 percent increase in One Day International match fee for the players.

The new salary structure, which is effective from January 1, 2014, takes a top-category contract to around 4,500 dollars a month, Category B contracts to 3,150 dollars a month and category C contracts to 1,800 dollars a month, the report added.
