Pakistan's cricket board chief has urged Bangladesh to send "any team," even "at the level of A teams and Under 19" to Pakistan as they attempt to bring back international matches to the nation in the aftermath of the deadly attack on Sri Lanka's cricket team in 2009.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan, who visited Bangladesh on Monday to revive and revitalize cricketing ties between the two countries, said that Pakistan understands that its security situation is a hurdle in the way of any cricket team visiting the nation but assured that the situation is better than what it was five years ago, reported The Express Tribune.
Pakistan has not hosted any international match ever since the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked by gunmen in Lahore in March 2009. The incident left eight people dead and wounded seven Sri Lankan players and an assistant coach.
Bangladesh had cancelled a planned tour in 2013 over security concerns.
