The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed banned spin bowler Raza Hasan to approach the Court of Arbitration Sports (CAS) in order to appeal against the two-year ban imposed on him on the charges of doping.

Hasan, who has played one one-day international and 10 Twenty20 matches, failed a drug test taken during a domestic competition in January.

The spinner had challenged the two-year ban and filed an appeal to PCB's Appellate Tribunal last week. However, it was deemed incompetent.

Taffazzul Rizvi, the board's legal adviser, said that the appropriate forum for filing the appeal is CAS and therefore, the appeal filed by Hasan has been returned by the PCB, the Express Tribune reported.

Hasan made his ODI debut against Australia in Dubai last October and played his last international match in a T20 against New Zealand during December.
