Pakistan all rounder Muhammad Hafeez has been allowed to bowl in his nation's domestic competitions despite a ban against him from bowling at the international level due to an illegal action.

Confirming the news, an ICC official said that PCB has permitted the bowler to bowl in domestic cricket, adding that it would be an opportunity for him to be reassessed for the international cricket after being monitored, the Express Tribune reported.

With the PCB's approval, Hafeez will also be eligible to bowl in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in February 2016 in Doha.

Earlier, the 34-year-old was handed a ban by the ICC in December 2014 for an illegal bowling action during Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.

The bowler, who was later cleared in April 2015, again handed a year ban in July this year after Pakistan's Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Hafeez will bowl for the Lahore Whites in the country's Twenty20 competitions, which starts from today.
