Amid several controversies, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been put to test again as women cricketers have complained over officials demanding physical relations.
The women players have lodged complaints that the officials have been constantly harassing them and presenting an 'unprofessional and disrespectful attitude', the Express Tribune reports.
According to the report, the PCB has gathered a three-member inquiry team to probe into the allegations by the women players that will meet all the players individually as part of its investigation.
The PCB committee has also asked for the career records of all the women players who have made the accusations, which the report said will in turn help clarify whether or not the women cricketers were good performers but were not considered by the officials for matches due to their refusal.
The report said that the PCB 's move came after after a group of women cricketers of the regional teams have revealed that some male officials of the Multan Cricket Club (MCC) demanded 'friendship and physical relations' and threatened not to consider them for selection if they refuse, irrespective of their performances.
While Maleeha Shafiq said that the MCC would 'destroy a girl's career', Kiran Khan complained that MCC President Begum Shami Sultan used to demand money from players.
However, Sultan has dismissed the allegations and termed them 'baseless', adding that she is willing to present all the necessary facts before the inquiry committee.
Meanwhile, the PCB has asked all the five women players to appear on June 12 at its regional head office in Lahore, the report added.
