Pakistan cricket officials have agreed to review evidence provided by former captain Rashid Latif, with which he is hoping to help banned spinner Danish Kaneria.
According to The Daily Times, the 32-year-old Kaneria, Pakistan's most successful spinner with 261 Test wickets was last year banned for life by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for spot fixing.
Kaneria was named as the middleman in a fixing deal between his Essex teammate Mervyn Westfield and alleged Indian bookie Anu Bhatt during a 2009 county match, the report said.
The PCB disclosed in a statement that its officials had met Latif and would review the evidence provided by him, the report added.
Latif has accused the ECB of making Kaneria a scapegoat to save county cricket, the report further said.
