The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) held a protest in Jammu against power and water crisis in the state on Friday.

The protesters also demanded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's resignation, citing the reason to be his failure to provide basic necessities of the people.

The district vice president of PDP Jammu, Vikram Singh, said, "The state government has proved to be a failure in every field. If they don't have money or resources then they don't have any right to stay in power. We demand the CM to leave his post because he has failed to fulfill the basic necessities of people. There is no proper supply of water and electricity in the state."

He added that instead of the Omar Abdullah government the PDP should be given a chance to come into power.

Earlier today Congress also held a protest in New Delhi against the BJP government on power and water crisis in the capital.
