Brazilian football legend Pele confirmed that he has recovered, while remaining in a semi-intensive care after being admitted to undergo treatment due to a urinary infection in Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein Hospital.

Releasing a recorded video message, Pele was seen thanking his fans saying that he knew everybody was worried about his health, confirming he is doing fine now.

Speaking in English and Portuguese, Pele thanked fans around the world who have been praying for him and his family, the BBC reported.

Earlier, a hospital statement revealed that Pele was doing well without medical complications, and was lucid and eating well.

Widely regarded as the finest player to play the game, Pele had an operation to remove kidney stones earlier this month.

Pele won three World Cups as a player and has been named Football Player of the Century by FIFA, Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and a national treasure by Brazilian government.
