Manchester City football team boss Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that Chelsea striker Diego Costa should change his game after the Spaniard earned a three-match ban for stamping.

Costa cannot face City in the Premier League on Saturday after being found guilty of violent conduct. The Football Association ruled that the striker stamped on Liverpool's Emre Can during Tuesday's League Cup semifinal win.

Pellegrini claimed that it would be a good thing for Costa to change a little bit in the future, adding that the striker doesn't need to play in that way because he's a very good player, the BBC reported.

Costa denied the charge against him, which related to an incident that took place in the 12th minute of the second leg tie at Stamford Bridge, which Chelsea won 1-0 to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Chelsea lead second-placed City by five points, and the two teams would face each other in Saturday's Premier League clash, with Pellegrini's men looking forward to reduce the gap to the leaders, the report added.
