People of Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh held hands to form a human chain to spread voter awareness on Saturday, as the town gears up for polls.
From school children to workers of educational welfare association, everyone participated in the awareness programme with enthusiasm.
"From all around, there is a lot of enthusiasm for participation in this awareness programme. There is support from individuals, including intellectuals. It's a very good program to make the voters aware," said Faizabad District Magistrate Indraveer Singh Yadav.
Faizabad will go to polls on May 7, the fifth phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Yadav was enthusiastic about the awareness programme.
"The aim is to have more people casting their votes. It is the Election Commission's order to encourage voters to use their right to vote," said Yadav.
