The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Tuesday said that the people of Uttar Pradesh are caught in bind because of family disputes in the Samjwadi Party (SP).
The statement came from BSP was in response to Mulayam Singh Yadav and warning the state government and his son Akhilesh Yadav not to attack his brother Shivpal Yadav.
"The people of Uttar Pradesh are being grinded between father-son and an uncle-nephew fight. They have made governance and administration of Uttar Pradesh a part of their family discord," claimed BSP leader Sudhindra Bhadoria.
During his Independence Day speech in Lucknow on Monday, Yadav extended support to his younger brother and cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav who had threatened to resign, after charging some party workers and office-bearers with committing "wrongful acts of 'land-grabbing and harassment of the public."
Mulayam said, "Shivpal is working very hard. A few people are against him. If he quits, then the situation for the party will become bad. Half of the people will go with him.
