A report released by IHS, a market research firm, shows that people spent 2.4 billion hours 'watching' competitive video games last year.

According to The Washington Post, people spent 2.4 billion hours watching other people play competitive video games, rather than playing.

There are multiple factors behind this 'video game watching,' one of them being strengthening of online game streaming platforms such as Twitch.

People, nowadays, are not just playing video games, but making a handsome living out of it, the report said.

Online gamer PewDiePie, YouTube's most-subscribed channel, reportedly makes 140,000 dollars to 1.4 million dollars a month, it added.
