Anjum Chopra, former captain of the Indian woman's cricket team, flagged off the walkathon.

"Talking about cancer, people affected by disease in Delhi and India are increasing, so it is very important for people to be aware about the cause of this disease. So I think this a very important issue," she said.

Founder president of the NGO, 'Cansupport', Harmala Gupta, said that people should take advantage of the rally and know more about the cancer.

"Today we have our annual walk here and through this walk we want to convey this message to everyone that you should not get scared of cancer and fight cancer and get aware about the disease as to how you can prevent it," she said.

Thousands of people are diagnosed with some form of cancer every year and it is an extremely challenging task to save their lives.
