People want to get rid of 'hollow speeches': Manish Sisodia

Sisodia said he is hopeful that the results would be better than the exit polls

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Tuesday that his party has the vision and action plan for Delhi, adding that the people now want to get rid of hollow speeches and statements.

Sisodia said he is hopeful that the results would be better than the exit polls.

"Now, the interpretation is that the people of Delhi want an honest government, the people want to get rid of hollow speeches or statements like women should give birth to four children or 'ghar wapsi'. Instead they want a government that has an action plan for Delhi," Sisodia said while taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

 

"BecauseAAP has the vision for Delhi. AAP has the action plan for Delhi. AAP has the credible leadership for Delhi," he added when asked as to why the people would choose AAP over BJP.

Counting of votes has begun for the Delhi Assembly elections. It is being carried out at 14 centres across the city amidst tight security.

The counting started at 8 a.m. and all results are expected to be out by afternoon.

The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the counting of votes. Counting is taking place at 14 centres in nine districts of the national capital.

A three-tier security has been put in place at all the 14 counting centres.

A voter turnout of 67.08% was recorded in the polling for the 70-member Delhi Assembly. A total of 673 candidates are in the fray this time.
