Doping accused baseball star Alex Rodriguez is reportedly planning to sue the Major League Baseball (MLB) in federal court next month if his 211-game ban that he is currently appealing is not lifted.

According to the New York Post, the New York Yankees star was banned for allegedly using performance-enhancing drug PED through his ties with the now-defunct American rejuvenation clinic Biogenesis.

Sources have claimed that Rodriguez is innocent, or atleast not as guilty as MLB makes him sound as he has not knowingly used PEDs since 2003 and has been drug tested 11 times since 2011, which have all been found negative.

The sources further said that Rodriguez felt 'persecuted' as the length of his suspension is 'absurd', adding that there is no proof that the player had impeded MLB's investigation.
