The second one-day international between New Zealand and Pakistan has been abandoned without a ball being balled after persistent rain left the outfield too wet for play at McLean Park in Napier on Thursday.

According to Sport24, umpires Bruce Oxenford and Billy Bowden decided to call off the game as there was no sun to dry the waterlogged outfield.

New Zealand are leading the three-match series 1-0 after winning the opening ODI in Wellington by 70 runs. The third match will be played in Auckland on Sunday.
