The Supreme Court on Monday told former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N. Srinivasan that every person at the helm of its affairs should be above suspicion and even the likelihood of conflict of interest should be avoided.
As per reports, the apex court told the BCCI that the purity of cricket must be maintained and all persons at the helm of its affairs should be above suspicion.
The apex court had in its previous hearing reportedly put the onus on Srinivasan and his counsel Kapil Sibal to "lift the veil" on the issue of conflict of interest.
Srinivasan had earlier moved the Supreme Court seeking his re-instatement as the BCCI president, stating that the Justice Mudgal Committee report clearly exonerated him of all charges.
Meanwhile, the petitioner in the IPL spot fixing case, Aditya Verma, said that the BCCI should work to remove corrupt people from their cricket board.
