A Peshmerga soldier in Iraq has said that they require more U.S. airstrikes to win the battle against Islamic State (IS) militants while dismissing the notion that ground troops were the ultimate answer.

The official said that all their weapons from the U.S. have gone to the IS which is resulting into an unbalanced battle, reported Fox News.

He stressed that they had military on ground but required more weapons to fight an enemy that has all the sophisticated American arms.

The official said that the Iraqi government had not given them a single bullet and that they were seeking help from foreign nations like Russia and America for weapons.

Peshmerga forces believe they need more help in order to take over the battle against IS.
