A petition to "reinstate" the Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has attracted 1,80,000 supporters after BBC suspended him over a "fracas" with a producer.

The petition, started by a member on Change.org called Guido Fawkes, stated "We the undersigned petition the BBC to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson. Freedom to fracas. #BringBackClarkson", reported the Daily Express.

According to sources, Clarkson was accused of hitting the producer last week and the three episodes that are remaining might not be broadcast.

Clarkson has not yet commented on the issue but jokingly said that a film could replace Sunday' show.

He was given a final warning last May after he used racist comment during a filming.

Clarkson said that BBC authorities told him he would be sacked if he used another offensive remark.
